About the Quest
A personalised 60-day writing program for Arnav Kashyap, Class 5 student in Mechelen, Belgium. The shape is Duolingo: short daily missions, a visible streak, XP, levels, boss days, and a coach who reads every page and writes back.
Twenty-five minutes a day. Three lines on Day 1, twenty lines by Day 60. A worksheet gets printed, written, photographed, and uploaded — the coach reads the page, picks two specific things to praise, names one thing for next time, and adds a verified XP number to the tracker.
The one rule
Fluency before perfection. Confidence before correction. Momentum before neatness.
In the first two weeks the coach will not mention spelling, grammar, or handwriting — even when they're visible — because protecting the early streak is worth more than any correction. The point is to make writing feel cheap and good. Polish lands later, once the habit is real.
The phases
| Days | Phase | Coach watches for | Coach ignores |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–14 | Fluency | Did he finish? Readable? Effort? | Spelling, neatness, grammar, punctuation |
| 15–21 | Story Mode | Idea / story flow | Handwriting style |
| 22–35 | Paragraph Shape | Structure + spelling | Sentence variety |
| 36–42 | Explain | Structure + connectors | Tone |
| 43–49 | Timed | Speed + structure | Style polish |
| 50–56 | Opinion | Reasons + at least one example | Stylistic flourish |
| 57–60 | Class 6 Prep | Full structure + one grammar point | Anything outside the week's goal |
The daily loop
- Print today's worksheet (one A4 page).
- Write for 20–25 minutes — warm-up, speed drill, main mission, self-check.
- Photograph the page.
- Upload to the coach and say "review".
- Read the two praises, the one suggestion, and the XP — out loud, together.
- Refresh the tracker. New flame. New row.
Levels & badges
Eight levels, from Pencil Apprentice (Day 1) to Class 6 Champion (Day 60). Eight badges that unlock at milestones — first mission, seven-day streak, first boss, twenty spelling-bank words, and so on. Boss days (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60) are longer and pay extra XP. Day 60 is the Grand Final.
